You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Commander, Security Office, in Arlington, VA

Duties

You will serve as the Deputy Activity Security Officer (DASO) to assist the Activity Security Officer (ASO) in managing the day-to-day activities of the security operations team. You will interpret security policy and implement security requirements to ensure horizontal security across the organization. You will coordinate with Pentagon Force Protection Agency on anti-terrorism planning and exercises. You will apply a thorough knowledge of multiple Department of Defense and services’ security references, regulations, and instructions, pertaining to information security.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11/12) or pay band (DA-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of the security requirements of DoDM 5200.01 V1-3, DoDI 5200.48, DoDM 5205.07 Vols. 1-4, and ICD's; 3) Technical and/or acquisition security background, preferably in aircraft, or air vehicle systems; 4) Experience in working within classified environments; 5) Thorough knowledge of multiple DoD and Military Services security references, regulations, and instructions pertaining to program security requirements.
