This position is part of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Emergency Management. A successful candidate will serve as an operations research analyst within the Office of Policy, Preparedness, and Readiness Assurance providing analysis of DOE and NNSA emergency management data and programs for evident-driven decision support.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: accomplishing a range of complex, scientific assignments, including financial analysis, planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of NNSA resources, contract oversight, and advising management.
Examples of Specialized Experience:
Experience utilizing mathematical and statistical technics (to include regression analysis, appropriate use of distributions, use of prediction and confidence intervals) to analyze technical data and perform analysis.
Experience defining problems; determining sources of data and sample sizes; planning, designing, and conducting test(s) to obtain data; and compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
Experience compiling program analysis data into visualizations to present analysis to senior leaders.
Experience performing studies that require analysis of a program's effectiveness and efficiency.

Education
Basic Requirements:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
- If education may be substituted for experience, indicate this and include the general formula for education to experience conversion (e.g., a Bachelor's Degree qualifies at the GS-5 level).
