About the Position: Serves as Administrative Officer for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC), Medical Recruiting Battalion (MR Bn). Provides advice and assistance to management on administrative operations, civilian and military personnel management, and special projects.

Duties

Provides advice and guidance on overall organizational, personnel and administrative matters. Reviews and analyzes administrative directives and policies. Coordinates all aspects of personnel services. Provides personnel and financial services to soldiers. Coordinates and/or provides for military personnel records management. Reviews, monitors, and advises management on matters concerning personnel actions and services.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires you to be able to type 40 words per minute.
  • TDY 10% required for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Providing personnel management, financial management, and training coordination guidance to personnel in accordance with established laws, regulations and policies; Track personnel actions, financial and training data for the organization; Prepare correspondence to communicate with management and personnel; Utilize multiple office automation software applications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ClericalManaging Human ResourcesOral CommunicationPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
