About the Position: This position is located in the U.S Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division located at Ft Bliss, TX.
Duties
Direct the activities of staff engaged in contract quality assurance oversight of the requisition, receipt, storage, distribution, and accounting for various types and classes of items of supply and equipment.
Develop/recommend/improve administration procedures to be followed concerning material management functions in the form of standing operating procedures, policy letters.
Analyze failures/shortfalls/weaknesses and initiates corrective action, e.g., shifting priorities, revising operating procedures, recommending changes of policy.
Responsible for the management of the installation supply program and has authority over contracted supply operations as specified by the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer's Representative.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain SECRET security clearance (Tier 3).
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement (OGE 450).
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- This position requires 10% TDY travel.
- This position requires a one year supervisory probationary period.
- This is an obligated position to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on an overseas tour.

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 YEARS by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes ) developing supply procedures for an organization; 2) using automated supply systems; 3) interpreting supply regulations to complete assignments and 4) supervising employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
