The incumbent, in the Primary Care Service Line (PCSL), performs administrative, clerical and technical support, which encompasses a variety of duties and responsibilities in support of the Chief, Administrative Officer and providers in Occupational Health, Women's Clinic and various Outpatient clinics located throughout Primary Care.
Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Collect, compile and/or track statistical information in support of program operations and to access status or outcomes in relation to established performance measures, goals, and objectives.
Receive and process documents and reports in accordance with established procedures.
Use software applications to draw information from a wide variety of sources in order to prepare reports.
Assist in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of program studies.
Implement protocols for incoming data.
Organize and maintain patient data and retrieve a variety of computerized data.
Track and trend data related to program effectiveness and clinical data (mammogram, maternity, pap smears, and other gynecological consults).
Utilize statistical data to compile deliverables and summarize program data to generate reports for the Service.
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, facility services, and Community care vendors.
Attain and maintain computer skills on a variety of software programs, e.g., word processing, file management, VistA program, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Work, PowerPoint, etc.
Provide a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties in support of the overall administrative functions of the office.
Function as the Primary Timekeeper for the PCSL.
Enter work order requests in support of the Service and will track, rectify and update action plans to satisfy finding from environmental rounds.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/07/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Use of a personal computer and a variety of software packages; utilizes databases or other tracking systems to maintain suspense deadlines; communicates effectively with a wide variety of individuals at all levels within an organization; prioritizes work to meet critical deadlines; providing exceptional customer service; skill in organizing and ensuring that all correspondence is reviewed with appropriate responses, when indicated, and are returned in proper format within the suspense date to the concurrence authority; knowledge of a wide variety of computer software programs such as Microsoft, VISTA, CPRS.
Typing Requirement: This position requires a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and may require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items like papers or books. The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
