About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off of Interstate 20. The depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Install, make major mechanical repairs, troubleshoot, makes operational tests and maintains a variety of multi-axis, multi-function installed or semi-fixed numerically controlled production equipment.
Troubleshoot equipment symptoms for malfunctions.
Examine equipment to determine required repair and materials and parts needed.
Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial plant equipment and machinery.
Maintain equipment maintenance and repair records.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Production Machinery Mechanic without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial plant equipment and machinery. I can perform the installation, alignment, place into operation, and all requirements to keep in operation of complex electronic control and indicating systems, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) production equipment, electronic components/parts, and electronic test equipment associated with maintenance functions. Perform modifications, and repair work on complex industrial equipment and machinery having specific functions with no established instructions or procedures for repair. Submit orders for repair and spare parts as necessary to maintain required inventory stock levels to support prompt repair of equipment.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent handling of objects weighing up to 45
pounds, and may occasionally handle objects weighing over 45 pounds. Incumbent is required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crouch, kneel and climb for substantial period of time. Work also involves occasionally working in awkward positions.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in buildings that are moderately heated and occasionally outside where there is exposure to weather elements. Buildings have concrete floors and there is noise from running machinery. There is possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, and burns. Incumbent wears such protective equipment as safety glasses, shoes and gloves. Incumbent is required to successfully complete a variety of hazardous material classes. There is a possibility of exposure to hazardous chemicals and fumes from spills and/or leaks and incumbent may be required to wear protective clothing (e.g., rubber boots, coveralls, goggles, aprons, gloves, respirator, etc.).
