Duties

This position is located under the Office of Management, Asset Forfeiture and Seized Property Division in Washington, District of Columbia. You will serve as an Asset Forfeiture - Program Specialist performing the below duties:

Qualifications

You must meet all qualifications and applicable Time-In-Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13), performing duties such as: Providing technical assistance to management on a variety of functions and activities such as audit review, budget data analyses on the asset forfeiture program Reviewing asset forfeiture inventory ensuring all required documentation is provided Working with various databases such as Case Management System and Consolidated Asset Tracking System to perform reviews on data being collected Identifying and implementing changes to seized and forfeited assets procedures improving the effectiveness of the program NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Background Investigation: You will be required to undergo a background investigation prior to employment. During the screening and/or background investigation process, you will be asked questions regarding any felony criminal convictions, the use of illegal drugs and the use of non-prescribed controlled substances including any experimentation, possession, sale, receipt, manufacture, cultivation, production, transfer, shipping, trafficking, or distribution of controlled substances. Residency: The Department of Justice (DOJ) requires that during three of the last five years you have either: resided in the United States, worked for the United States in a foreign country in a Federal, military, or federally sponsored capacity, and/or been a dependent of a Federal or U.S. military employee in a foreign country. You may be asked to provide sufficient documentation to meet this residency requirement.The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
