This assignment is a 2-year non-reimbursable detail assignment with option to extend an additional year. This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Intelligence and Analysis (l&A), Deputy Under Secretary for Intelligence Partnerships (DUSIP), Engagement Liaison Office (ELO), Liaison Officer Branch (LNOB).

Duties

I&A maintains a formal LNO Program composed of experienced I&A intelligence professionals assigned to organizations across the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Intelligence Enterprise (IE), the Intelligence Community (IC), the federal law enforcement (LE) community, and the Department of Defense (DoD). The LNO Program is designed to enhance communication and coordination and improve the multi-directional flow of information by meeting mutual intelligence needs of DHS and interagency partners. The LNO Program also provides for professional development and broadening opportunities to I&A employees. The LNO Program is designed to enhance communication and coordination and improve this multi-directional information flow by meeting mutual intelligence needs of DHS and interagency partners. LNOs play a vital role in sharing information and equipping DHS with timely intelligence it needs to keep the homeland safe, secure, and resilient. In addition to supporting the efforts of I&A, LNOs assigned across the federal interagency support the interactions of their Host Organization with all DHS Components and Offices. LNOs are expected to represent l&A and DHS in a professional manner to all levels of leadership. I&A LNOs maintain access to the proper Host Organization systems to conduct activities that support the Host Organization's interactions with DHS. These activities focus on facilitating the bi-directional flow of information between I&A and the Host Organization and include:

Requirements

• Must be able to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Drug-Free Workplace Program.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Overtime may be required in response to a significant event.
• Overnight Travel of 1-5 nights per month may be required.
• For the NSA and FBI detail positions, must be able to obtain/maintain a CI Scope Polygraph Exam.

Qualifications

The competencies or knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform this job are: Knowledge of the Intelligence Community and the DHS Intelligence Enterprise. Knowledge of the principles of intelligence operations and analytical principles. Knowledge of DHS I&A homeland security mission and the role of intelligence in the relationship between I&A, the DHS Components, and the IC. Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate at the senior most levels.
