You will serve as a GG-14 Lead/Senior Investigator and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for inspections, assessments and investigations for the Naval Intelligence Activity (NIA). This position is located in the NAVAL INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY.
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.
Duties
You will provide expertise on all facets of investigation procedure, methods, and techniques and for interpreting, analyzing, and establishing regulatory and policy guidance in adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
You will provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to senior management and/or inspectors on critical operation issues.
You will recommend new approaches in response to identified weaknesses and vulnerabilities within the organization.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
- This position may require a 2-Year DCIPS trial period requirement.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as: 1) Conduct inspections and evaluations of Intelligence Commands and Programs for compliance for effectiveness and risks; 2) Evaluate command level oversight, analyses, reviews, evaluations, inquiries, and investigations related to Intelligence readiness, operations, security and Intelligence Oversight compliance; and 3) Identify and analyze, applicable laws; regulations, directives, instructions, manuals, policies, and procedures to determine relevance and significance to issue under investigation.
