Serves as a technical expert for cost and economic analysis matters of the command. Utilizes a variety of scientific and mathematical theories and principles applicable to operations research and to professional methods of scientific inquiry and analysis. This position is located at Fort Eustis, Virginia.
Duties
Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and assignments.
Evaluate performance and develops performance plans.
Advise employees on both work and administrative matters.
Identify needs and makes provision for training and development of subordinates.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities and scheduling completion.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- You may be expected to travel up to 25% for this position.
- A one-year supervisor/managerial probationary period may be required

Basic Requirement for Operations Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SpecializedExperience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Use analytical concepts and techniques in development of resource models 2) analyze cost data using statistical techniques; 3) evaluate a variety of methods to analyze problems of resourcing institutional training; AND/OR 4) prepare necessary narrative data formats and narrative analyses for presentation of analysis conclusion/or recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Education
