Duties
You will directly manage multiple environmental media programs (i.e., environmental management system (EMS) Environmental Quality Assessment (EQA), Internal Assessment Program (IAP), asbestos, air, water, hazardous waste, lead based paint, etc.).
You will plan and conduct assessments and inspections of industrial and non-industrial operations.
You will serve as the project team leader for multi-disciplined study teams when projects require multiple efforts.
You will negotiate solutions to controversial and technically complex environmental problems with other professionals, environmental officials and representatives.
You will represent the organization at conferences, meetings, seminars, and workgroups.
You will conduct training sessions in assigned areas of responsibility.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.

Qualifications
GS-09
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing a variety of duties involving the coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of routine program and activities associated with air, water, wastewater, asbestos, hazardous waste, lead based paints, pollution prevent, tanks, and spill response.
GS-07
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector ensuring proper waste and material management to minimize and prevent pollution of toxic and hazardous waste.

Education
Applicants that do not meet the specialized experience as described above may qualify with education or a combination of experience and education, as follows:
GS-9
Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
