You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS. This position is also subject to a Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) and Non-Foreign Post Differential (NFPD) currently set at 12.04% and 12.96%, respectively. COLA and NFPD are subject to change without notice.

Duties

You will work on environmental protection projects of complex scope involving analysis, development, implementation and management of environmental programs at installations within the Naval Facilities Engineering Command . You will serve as the command expert in one or more program or functional areas and also plan, implement or monitor other listed environmental programs. You will manage installation aspects of environmental plans and permits, by ensuring compliance with permits issued by state, local and Federal agencies. You will respond to and oversee spill response team actions.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, managing, and coordinating multiple environmental protection programs (i.e. industrial hazardous waste management/disposal; spill prevention recovery; oily waste/recovery/management and disposal; asbestos removal/remediation; industrial waste management; spill response etc.).
