You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (CRANE OPERATOR in the Crane Operations Branch, Rigging and Equipment Operations Division, Lifting and Handling Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will perform shop planning, scheduling, progressing and expediting duties for Nuclear and Non-Nuclear areas. You will maintain files of standing and completed job orders, Operator’s Daily Checklists (ODCLs), lift counts, and crane usage hours. You will determine which crane would most effectively and economically accomplish assigned work based on weight to be lifted, reach of lift, duration of assignment, availability, etc. You will establish work procedures for correcting deficiencies of a routine nature and may elaborate on work procedures issued by engineers for correcting complex, critical deficiencies. You will assure adequacy of job order specifications, estimates, sequences and schedules, where specified, for controlling job orders by requesting job order revisions. You will prepare requisition forms to obtain material from shop stores, commercially, and through the General Services Administration (GSA) system.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
