You will serve as a CRANE OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR II in the RIGGING AND EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS DIVISION within the LIFTING HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will coordinate efforts of subordinate work groups with each other and with other work groups working on the same project. You will periodically inspect work sites and review status and progress of work. You will eliminate potential bottlenecks; to minimize effect of actual work stoppages or delays encountered; to re-organize and re-direct efforts on jobs falling behind schedule to assure timely completion of work. You will plan, organize and schedule work requiring crane team and operations support on a short and long range basis. You will provide instruction and training to subordinate supervisors, answers questions and assists with resolution of problems encountered. You will supervise through subordinate supervisors in order to plan and direct operations and coordinate with other work groups. You will analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and monitor the status of their work in relation to the overall schedule requirements, including unanticipated or emergency requirements.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
