Vacancies will be filled in the following specialty areas:
Small Business Self Employed Campus Collection Operations
The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.
Identifies potential and actual problems and probable causes. Researches a variety of issues, gathers pertinent statistics or information, reports findings to higher level employee, and may recommend corrective action for aspects of a program or function.
Monitors, reviews, and evaluates operations and interrelationships with other functions regarding workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems and report findings to higher level employee(s). Verifies completeness and accuracy of controls to ensure compliance with established procedures and formats.
Revises procedures, controls, etc., as instructed by analyst(s) or comparable positions. Drafts memoranda, preliminary reports, and charts showing findings or recommendations.
Assists management with labor-management issues and grievances through the preparation of reports or responses, frequently having advance knowledge of decisions rendered and actions proposed that may result in personnel actions.
Uses word processing, database, and spreadsheet software to prepare documents and to enter, revise, manipulate, sort, calculate, store and retrieve data. A qualified typist is required.
This position has career progression. If you are selected at a grade level lower than the full working level, you may be non-competitively promoted as your career progresses. For example, you may be hired as a GS-05, but if the position has career progression to GS-11, then you may move from a GS-05 to a GS-11 in as little as three years.
Qualifications
Federal experience is not required. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume.
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-5: Applicants must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies required to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions including performing quality review of documents; resolving procedural problems according to established procedures; and utilizing a personal computer and a variety of software applications to prepare correspondence, reports and other substantive material
OR
EDUCATION: You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: a bachelor's degree or four (4) years of education above high school in any field of study from an accredited college or university.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education equivalent to one year of full-time employment as defined above. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE GS-6: You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that is in or related to this position and provided you with the competencies to perform successfully the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying experience may have been gained by performing clerical and technical work in support of management and/or program analysis functions which may have included identifying potential and actual problems and/or probable causes; researching specific issues; gathering pertinent statistics or information; monitoring, reviewing, or evaluating operations and interrelationships with other functions in regard to workflow, work redundancy, or systemic problems; revising procedures, controls, etc; and preparing memoranda, preliminary reports, and charts showing recommendations or findings.
