This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at Fort Meade, Maryland .

Duties

The incumbent selects approaches and methods to be used to complete work assignments from specific, established guidelines. Assignments may be accompanied by on-the-job and/or formal training. Work is reviewed for sound judgment, adequacy, and accuracy. Additional work will be assigned as the employee demonstrates proficiency. Manage and provide analysis of career management programs to provide agency level recommendation for program improvements. Uses project management skills to manage organizational change, improve performance and identify development needs.

Qualifications

Time in Grade: For entry at the GS-09 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Basic Requirement GS-09: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study or specific course requirements generally as stated in paragraph A in the individual occupational requirements. The quality of the combination of education and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform work in the occupation, and is comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of a full 4-year course of study with a major in the appropriate field. In addition to courses in the major and related fields, a typical college degree would have included courses that involved analysis, writing, critical thinking, research, etc. These courses would have provided an applicant with skills and abilities sufficient to perform progressively more responsible work in the occupation. Therefore, creditable experience should have demonstrated similarly appropriate skills or abilities needed to perform the work of the occupation. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-07 if outside the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as Experience managing and analyzing career and leadership development programs which support agency mission requirements. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE AT GS-09 LEVEL: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, or Master's or equivalent graduate degree such as LL.B. or J.D., may be substituted to meet the experience requirement.
