You will serve as a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (CBRNE-TRAINING) in the Operations and Plans Division, Mission Assurance Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Duties

You will be responsible for conducting training and developing the three members of the Mission Assurance CBRNE training cadre to provide CBRNE training to MCIWEST Installations and Service Level Training Installations within MCIWEST region. You will compile and develop and annual fiscal year training schedule for review and approval. You will be responsible for CBRNE/HAZMAT equipment training resource management, to include course material development, periods of instruction, CBRNE/HAZMAT equipment technical data and specifications and maintaining training records. You will be responsible for reviewing, updating and generating CBRNE training materials for all CBRNE/HAZMAT instruction and provide input annually to the MCIWEST-MCB CAMPPEN CBRNE PM. You will provide technical support for the MCIWEST CBRNE IPP in the areas of CBRNE/HAZMAT detection, decontamination, incident management and PPE.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • May be required to carry a cell phone 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Management and execution of fire and emergency related programs and projects, identifying and developing ways to resolve problems affecting the Mission Assurance goals and objectives, planning, directing, and implementing program projects and training plans; providing technical and analytical expertise; and complete decision packages, staff studies and recommendations.
