Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Community Planning and Development Specialist, you will:
Assist with the development of training programs and train those involved in making judgments concerning disaster assistance program requirements, such as activity eligibility, compliance with other statutory requirements, adequacy of grantee performance and reporting.
Review assigned audits and develop draft management decisions, provide recommendations to address audit findings and improve program performance, track final action due dates, and draft memos to respond to open audits.
Develop new or improves existing procedures, processes or forms to streamline government processes. Draft financial management policies and procedures for the use of CDBG-DR funds based on statutory and administrative requirements.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Recommending program policies and procedures for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program at the federal, state, or local government level; AND
Interpreting and implementing regulations or policy guidance; AND
Analyzing CDBG data and providing oversight of funded activities.
For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Recommending program policies and procedures for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program at the federal, state, or local government level; AND
Interpreting and implementing regulations or policy guidance.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
