Duties
You will serve as the Ordnance / Dry Cargo IT Specialist within the Fleet Communications Division of the Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) Systems Department of Military Sealift Command (MSC).
You will provide a variety of services required to satisfactorily provision and sustain C4 services that directly impact the accomplishment of the MSC mission to provide Combat Logistics Support.
Yow will direct oversight and support to MSC ships is required and ranges from minor repairs to major overhauls requiring extended industrial assistance.
You will develop and implement processes and procedures to improve reliability and supportability of IT systems/equipment.
You will coordinate innovative, unusual and/or routine shipboard IT system installation, maintenance, and sustainment activities.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position my be required to work overtime as necessary.
- This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area and level commensurate within 6 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

In addition to four competencies the applicant's resume must demonstrate the following specialized experience:
Experience providing direct oversight of shipboard Information Technology systems installation, maintenance and sustainment.
Experience coordinating efforts with internal and external stakeholders to install approved alternations to IT systems, including necessary modifications to ship's structures and proper application of ship's power and ventilation.
Experience providing customer service support to resolve deployment, maintenance and sustainment problems with shipboard IT systems.
Experience ensuring Security Compliance of all IT systems/subsystems to include Certification and Accreditation, maintenance, remediation, reporting and inspections.
Experience identifying and resolving complex system casualties and outages
Experience managing multiple projects designed to support the operational mission
Experience maintaining direct interaction with customers to determine level of support required to effectively manage information technology resources.
