Duties
As a Pharmacy Technician GS-0661-07, your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation, verification of qualifications, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, and any other job-related requirement before or after appointment.
- Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Work is performed in a clinical environment and requires physical exertion to include lifting and carrying large boxes and frequent walks between offices in the Clinical Center.
- The work also requires specific physical characteristics to include dexterity to perform fine precise work, delicate adjustments, and exact measurements associate with delicate machines and specialized drugs.
- The work is performed in a clinical environment, Work involves moderate risks and discomforts associated with for example, exposure to chemical solutions, toxic agents, or irritant chemicals.
- Special safety precautions and protective gear and clothing may be required in the clinical areas.
- A one-year probationary period may be required upon selection/placement.
- This position requires weekend hours, night shifts, regular or rotational shifts, and holiday hours.
- If selected, you must pass a pre-employment medical examination, provide evidence of immunization.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
A. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Accurately compounding sterile medications using aseptic technique; cleaning, operating, and maintaining specialized pharmacy equipment including biological safety cabinets; accurately performing pharmaceutical calculations; accurately measuring appropriate ingredients; and accurately logging investigational drugs to maintain inventory balance.

B. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have completed one full year of graduate education, or an internship, in Pharmacy related education. One year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study, or 18 semester hours.
OR
C. I qualify for this position at the GS-07 level because I have a combination of graduate level education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
