You will serve as a senior Human Resources Specialist in the Executive and Political Resources Center (EPRC), Departmental Office of Human Resources Management, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The Center is responsible for the management and administration of the Department's Senior Executive Service and Political Resources Programs.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.
To qualify for the Grade 13, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-12, it must include:
Experience interpreting guidelines, regulations, and directives concerning benefits, retirement and entitlement cases; conducting research, gathering facts, and utilizing analytical and evaluative methods to access information and make sound recommendations and decisions; and informing employees about their entitlements.
To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
Experience performing operations work in the area of employee benefits, applying the principles, concepts, laws, and systems to participate in and lead efforts in resolving broad programmatic issues that significantly impact upon the Department’s retirement program administration and involve broad aspects of additional employee benefits programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Technical - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform ones job; works with, understands and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
Interpersonal Skills - Shows understanding, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern; develops & maintains relationships; may deal with people who are difficult, hostile, distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds & situations; is sensitive to individual differences.
