About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Real Estate Division.
This position serves as Chief of the Management and Disposal Branch responsible for independent planning, organizing, and directing all Branch Real Estate activities associated with Civil Works and Military Installations within the boundaries of the New York District.
Located in New York City.
Duties
Plan, organize, and direct all Real Estate branch activities to include budget and schedule for all assigned Civil Works and Military Installations within the New York District.
Manage titles and usage of Army controlled real properties such as compliance inspections, utilization reviews, real estate claims, recreational development, and wildlife conservation.
Provide technical guidance and recommends operating policies in keeping with the interpretations of laws and directives from higher authority.
Prepare justifications to obtain legislative approval of each real estate acquisitions or disposal projects.
Represent the Division Chief at high level meetings and liaise with counterparts at all levels.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the work of subordinates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315
- This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experiences which includes: 1) Manage the acquisition and leasing of federal real property; 2) Leads a team assigned to execute programs and activities; AND 3) Coordinates with local organizations, private industry and other agencies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
