The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the IT Systems Specialist responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing IT systems to align with the unique business requirements of customer organizations, encompassing system engineering, acquisitions oversight, risk management, and customer engagement.
Duties
Develop enterprise architecture or system components that incorporate the organization's goals and objectives. Apply methods, standards, and approaches for describing, analyzing, and documenting the organization's enterprise information technology (IT) architecture.
Ensure that acquired or developed system(s) and architecture(s) are consistent with organization's cybersecurity architecture guidelines.
Plan implementation strategy to ensure that enterprise components can be integrated and aligned. Document how the implementation of a new system or new interface between systems impacts the current and target environment including but not limited to security posture.
Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures. Manage system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Sensitive Security Clearance with access to sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A Non-Disclosure agreement must be signed.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of technical methods, principles, and practices and skill in applying this knowledge to such assignments as the design and planning of difficult, but well precedented IT projects. Planning, designing, and overseeing IT systems to align with the unique business requirements of customer organizations, encompassing system engineering, acquisitions oversight, risk management, and customer engagement. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the systems engineering process to include enterprise information technology (IT) architectural concepts and patterns and integrating the organization's goals and objectives into the architecture; installation, integration, and optimization of system components to include multi-level security systems and cross domain solutions.
2. Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and organizational requirements to included organization's enterprise information security architecture; key concepts in security management including security system design tools, methods, techniques, and cybersecurity-enabled software products.
3. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies to include network systems management principles, models, methods, and tools; network security architecture concepts such as topology, protocols, components, principles, and network design processes, to include understanding of security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offs.
4. Knowledge of various types of computer architectures to include virtualization technologies and virtual machine development and maintenance; system administration, network, and operating system concepts and hardening techniques; operating system and file system implementations to include measures or indicators of system performance, availability and performance tuning tools and techniques.
5. Skill in designing the integration of hardware and software solutions and applying and incorporating information technologies into proposed solutions; conducting system/server planning, management, maintenance and identifying and anticipating system/server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems.
6. Ability to apply the organization's goals and objectives to develop and maintain IT architecture; apply the methods, standards, and approaches for describing, analyzing, and documenting the organization's enterprise IT architecture and execute technology integration processes; build IT architectures and frameworks.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
