You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT DIVISION of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. SALARY: GS-07: $51,110 - $66,445 GS-09: $62,517 - $81,272

Duties

You will provide support services for the Command’s travel program and serves as a Defense Travel System (DTS) specialist. You will be responsible for creating and reviewing travel authorizations and vouchers in accordance with existing and applicable travel regulations and local policy. You will advise travelers of proper travel entitlements and requirements for TDY assignments and resolves travel issues or discrepancies. You will plan, determine, and coordinate travel business services required to support the administration of travel for the Command You will provide support for foreign travel requirements including advising on proper procedures and assisting with official passport application packages and taking passport photos.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing government travel regulations and procedures to include utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS) to resolve issues and make recommendations for government travel program compliance. FOR GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: interpreting and applying government travel regulations to resolve travel-related problems utilizing the Defense Travel System (DTS). In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-09:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree

For the GS-07:
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
