You will serve as the F-35 Lightning Support Team (LST) Lead Engineer in the FST Engineering DIV of FLTREADCEN EAST. This position is located in Ft. Worth, TX with the F-35 LST and is responsible for managing all aspects of LST engineering efforts. This includes both supervisory and technical leadership of the LST engineering team.

Duties

You will oversee all engineers and related technical support personnel assigned to the FST. You will budget resources regarding training, workload, and capabilities for multiyear projects. You will analyze and recommend adjustments to specified service life intervals for aircraft/weapons and equipment. You will develop cost analysis tradeoffs for varying degrees to ensure requirements are balanced for affordability. You will design, analyze, prototype and implement comprehensive metrics and models allowing measurement in changes of maintainability and testing of the predictive techniques in order to evaluate program accomplishments, effectiveness and compliance.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Developing solutions to fleet reported issues involving aircraft weapons systems. 2.) Ensuring industrial planning and support of aircraft weapons systems, components, and field team work/maintenance is accomplished efficiently. 3.) Developing cost analysis tradeoffs for varying degrees of capability to ensure requirements are balanced with affordability. 4.) Designing, analyzing, prototyping and implementing comprehensive metrics and models allowing measurement of changes in aircraft maintainability and testing/validation of predictive techniques in order to measure program accomplishments. 5.) Determining the best approach to solve complex technical engineering problems involving aircraft weapons systems. 6.) Budgeting resources regarding training, workload execution and prioritization, and capabilities development of multiyear projections.
