You will serve as a SECURITY ASSUSTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the COMMANDER, NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (CNIC) of NSA SOUTH POTOMAC SECURITY DETACHMENT.

Duties

You will perform a variety of security, administrative and supply assistant functions in support of the Security organization. You will prepare a variety of reports and maintain the required records for all functions in the Security program to include physical security, security operations, military working dogs, training and assessments, and other security-related areas. You will perform and/or monitor standardized aspects of established security program operations. You will use knowledge of Security supply requirements to ensure supply support for the organization. You will review requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to determine priority supply action required, the status of action, changes in requirements and unexpected requirements, and to expedite delivery of urgently required items. You will compose routine correspondence, maintain files, utilize numerous information resources, and provide status of projects relating to Security policies for the organization.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing and/or maintaining security documents and records; 2) Procuring and/or managing supplies to ensure sufficient supplies and compliance with regulations; 3) Analyzing administrative functions to evaluate efficiency and make recommendations for improvements; 4) Utilizing office automation software to prepare reports in the correct format.
