THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION
This National Guard position is for an IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5894000 and is part of the FL 125th FW, National Guard.
Duties
As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-12, you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist providing Cybersecurity for an Air National Guard Wing's SAP or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) infrastructure. Operate within the DoD, Air Force and NGB security procedures, operations, and practices. Ensure systems are operated and maintained IAW AFI 17-101, Joint SAP Implementation Guidance (JSIG), and all applicable command and DOD security directives and procedures. Monitor DoD information security bulletins and notifications as they relate to Information Security Vulnerability Alerts (ISVAs). Coordination is required with peer Wing contacts, MAJCOM elements, and commercial vendors. Incumbent is required to ensure compliance with Federal, DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM Information Assurance/Cyber Security policies. Utilize extensive knowledge of all areas of automation security to establish operating standards and procedures for the installation Information Security Program. Coordinate requirements with the responsible personnel and track suspense for completing required actions and report virus problems in accordance with established procedures. Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems and networks by planning, analyzing, developing, and implementing information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in advising, posturing, preparing and auditing the organization for Wing Self Inspection Program, Compliance Inspections, and accreditations. May serve in a team lead role for assessment teams, such as a Site Assistance Visit (SAV).
Requirements
- Incumbent must possess or be able to acquire the appropriate level security clearance for this position
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Enrollment in Direct Deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Must have a Secret Clearance prior to appointment.
- Must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Technician (IAT-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position.
- You must upload your most recent SF 50 (e.g. General Adjustment) to be considered.
Qualifications
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title 5, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)", and is open to current on-board (Tenure 1, 2 and 3) US Federal employees interested in helping the Department of the Air Force meet our mission requirements as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC).
PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

NOTES:
1. Must have a SECRET clearance prior to appointment and the ability to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
2. Selectee must meet position requirements for certification at Level II in Information Assurance Technician (IAT-II) within 6 months or less of appointment to this position.
3. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
4. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
5. Overtime and/or emergency overtime may be required.
SPECILAIZED EXPERIENCE:GS-12 Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience working the cyber program's standardization and evaluation programs; experiences included coordinating with MAJCOMs, Numbered Air Forces, Group Standardization and Evaluation, and active duty counterparts to validate that the unit's evaluation program reflected AF standards and metrics; experienced in developing procedures used to assess an operator's currency and readiness to perform contingency and training missions; experienced in analyzing, evaluating and examining Cyberspace Operators in order to determine their proficiency levels as required to operate cyberspace weapon systems and meet the of particular crew positions' standards and special mission profiles; experienced in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of DoD information systems that identified vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs; experienced in delivering assessed changes to higher-level policies, standards, directives or operations manuals that provided impacts on unit plans, policies, programs or operations; experiences included recommendations to senior leaders to adopt new concepts, criteria, and standards for inclusion in cyberspace operations training programs.
