About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Duties
Responsible for oversight, coordination, and reporting of the installation transportation program.
Ensure an efficient and effective operation capable of deploying and redeploying soldiers, civilians, and units.
Oversee execution of cargo, unit equipment, and freight shipments.
Oversee management of Non-Tactical Vehicle program to ensure proper utilization, efficient operations, and licensure of operators.
Oversee the operational deployment and redeployment of unit personnel by surface and air.
Provide program oversight, planning, and reporting to assure timely operational support and integration of new or changing transportation requirements.
Analyze and interpret Department of Defense transportation, traffic management and logistics regulations, directives, technical and doctrinal publications, policy and instructions for development of short and long-range program requirements.
Plan work to be accomplished that affects organizational transportation and logistical operations.
Conduct on-site reviews and assessments of transportation programs as part of overall logistics operations.
Monitor and evaluate manpower and budget data to baseline documents in support of the installation transportation programs and Transportation Division.
Provide budgetary execution and installation transportation division oversight for all financial approvals and transactions.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. Travel may include site visits to stateside and overseas locations.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning, directing, and/or coordinating transportation support services related to the movement of personnel, freight, and/or personal property; 2) Analyzing transportation policies, programs, and/or procedures; 3) Identifying methods to improve the effectiveness of an organization's transportation or traffic management operations; and 4) Resolving transportation and/or traffic management problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
