About the Position: This position is located at the Logistics Readiness Center at Fort Leonard Wood. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Serve as the Supervisory Transportation Specialist, Personal Property Management Branch, responsible for the planning, directing, coordinating and reviewing of activities. Incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day functional oversight and management of Personal Property, Quality Assurance Inspectors for all functions performed in the Personal Property area. Utilize American Flag carriers exclusively unless Foreign Military Sales or is determined to be "unavailable" according to the Joint Federal Travel Regulations. Commensurate authority for all required actions involving planning of the Personal Property Quality Assurance, and Passenger Travel functions. Partner with other organizations, government and private to streamline processes and functions. Supervise the Passenger Travel Sections personnel, Provides Quality Assurance and Government Oversight for the Personal Property function.

Current Civilian Employees of the Organization In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) planning, directing, coordinating a complex transportation program related to the worldwide movement of personal property and personnel (military and civilian); 2) procuring the most effective transportation to move large groups of personnel by air and ground; 3) establishing policies and procedures to meet requirements of a Transportation Management Program and 4) planning and assigning work of subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
