About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Assistant (Military) performing a variety of duties for different human resource military personnel programs and systems. The student load includes a diverse population of active duty, reserves, civilians, and Advance Individual Training (AIT) Soldiers with the U.S Army Medical Center of Excellence at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Duties
Perform a variety of military human resources tasks and provides technical advice and guidance regarding a wide variety of military human resources programs.
Prepare and maintain Human Resources records, monitor suspense's, evaluations line of duty and survivor assistance.
Initiate and prepare various orders that include amendments, revocations, and endorsements, permanent change of duty assignments, reassignments, promotions, and separations from actions within military service.
Monitor processing feedback from higher headquarters and Army and takes necessary corrective action.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a SECRET security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing military human resources support and guidance; applying military human resources rules and regulations, policies, and operations to perform a full range of assignments; performing military human resource tasks related to personnel accounting and strength management reports; using human resources automated systems dedicated to the management of soldiers to input and retrieve data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
