You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL/OA) in the Installation Personnel Administration Center of RECRUIT TRAINING REGIMENT.

Duties

You will conduct the 1st and 2nd stage audits, service record book audits, and unit diary preparations for newly assigned permanent personnel. You will research and resolve all travel claim pay and entitlement discrepancies and initiate the required corrective action. You will track enlisted promotion process to include verification of composite scores, promotion restrictions, and ensure timely submission of non-recommendations. You will track and report all mandatory training events for recruits. You will prepare discharge certificates for separation, trave/discharge orders, letters of appreciation and certificates of appreciation. You will ensure uniformed service members receive Department of Defense benefits which they are entitled to such as Medical, Commissary, Exchange, and Morale Welfare and Recreation privileges. You will prepare, endorse, and deliver Permanent Change of Station, Permanent Change of Assignment Orders for departing Marines and Recruits.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
  • Successful completion of at least two full academic years of education above high school
