About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Ft. Eisenhower, Georgia.

Duties

Serves as Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Manager with delegated responsibility for planning and managing the Command's SOH program under the authority of the Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) Safety Director. Reviews all support agreements and ensures that host installations are providing adequate SOH support to ARCYBER activities. Interprets new and revised regulations and directives from higher headquarters as well as host installations, manuals, and guidelines for the operation of the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program Supports the Command in the development and implementation of SOH programs for missions and operations of a high-risk nature, including elements involving a mixture of military, contractor, and government civilian employees from various agencies. Prepares and selects SOH information to train and motivate workers, supervisors, and managers in accident prevention concepts, practices, and techniques.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in DoDI 1400.25 V3005, Cyber Excepted Service, Employment and Placement.
  • Must undergo and successfully complete an initial and periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) examination with No Deception Indicated (NOi).
  • Must pass an initial and periodic urinalysis screening for illegal drug use.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited facilities and networks. [Military External Affairs Division (MEAD) Security In-Processing (SIP) process.]
  • This is a Mission-Essential (ME) position and is occupied by an agency designated Emergency employee. You will be expected to report to or remain at your worksite during dismissal or closure situations.
  • This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.
  • Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status. Prior to appointment applicants are required to sign a statement
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with access to SCI Security clearance.

Specialized experience would be demonstrated by: 1) Developing and applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements; 2) Analyzing new and existing safety procedures, processes, products, or other systems to determine and advise senior executives and subordinate commands on the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards; and 3) Managing and approving budget forecasts and execution for organizations.
