Duties

You will serve as the Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the N6 Department of Cruise Missile Support Activity, Atlantic (CMSA LANT). You will perform a full range of supervisory responsibilities for staff consisting of IT Specialists (GS-2210-12/13) and Information Technicians (E5/E6). You will plan, direct and administer the work of the division ensuring that CMSA LANT’s comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. You will be the primary cyber security and/or systems engineering technical advisor to the N6 Department Head and point of contact to all external organizations. You will lead projects for all significant development efforts in the department of a technical nature which requires coordination with multiple groups of civilian, military, and contract personnel. You will evaluate the impacts of rapidly evolving technology to ensure newly developed hardware and software configurations integrate into the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) Federation enterprise architecture. You will advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures and directives.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 461, proficiency level INTERMEDIATE the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:. 1) Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND In addition to your experience demonstrating the competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing advanced IT principles, concepts, methods and standards in order to develop policies, procedures and strategies of cybersecurity and system engineering services. Experience utilizing the interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines (e.g., systems administration, customer support, network, data management, internet, and planning/management services) to develop comprehensive integration plans for new server technology. Experience evaluating, identifying, and resolving negative impacts on current and planned IT architectures. Experience evaluating employee performance, recommending promotions and re-assignments.
