Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operation, National Targeting Center - Counter Network Division in Sterling, VA.

Duties

The work carried out by this position engages in developing sources of information for intelligence the collection, evaluation, and analysis of intelligence information used for projecting data and/or estimates of future situations, developing trends and patterns, and producing studies and tactical data. This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354.00 (GS-13 Step 10). Your duties will include: Reviewing and analyzing CBP border encounters based on detailed understanding of terrorist travel trends and normal passenger flows; Reviewing, researching and analyzing matches to targeting programs from a variety of sources; Representing the organization on the coordination of issues with law enforcement and intelligence community partners; Collecting and analyzing intelligence data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns profiles, estimates and studies; Preparing preliminary and finished intelligence products and disseminating the products to the appropriate officials.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Leveraging and manipulating data from multi-intelligence/technical collection analysis tools (i.e. HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT, FINCEN); Using network analysis techniques and specialized analytical tools to identify and detail key figures/organizations that may pose a threat to US interests; Collecting intelligence to support specific long range planning, programs, and activities; Selecting the proper methods of dissemination for intelligence products; Researching and analyzing information from the Intelligence Community/Intelligence Enterprise serialized reporting to develop and publish intelligence products.
