As a Project Manager, you will be involved in the delivery of facilities for GSA customers, typically requiring significant design, construction, renovation and contracting efforts to provide customized space on complex, extensive or sensitive capital or major design and construction projects.
Location of position: Public Building Service; Chicagoland SCOD and Design & Construction Project Delivery DivisionsWe may be filling three vacancies; additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
Duties
The Chicagoland Service Center Operations (CSCOD) division is responsible for all aspects of facility operations, including operating, maintaining and sustaining high quality work environments. Each Service Center Operation Division (SCOD) provides outleasing expertise, field support, guidance and operational expertise.

The GS-13 salary range starts at $103,409 per year. Salary is determined by the location for which you are selected. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is utilizing project management practices and tools to simultaneously manage multiple complex and high risk construction and/or repair and alteration projects in a real estate environment. This experience must include:
Managing complex projects (balancing scope/quality, schedule, budget and risk) requiring the services of multiple disciplines (i.e., construction, design, IT, telecommunications, interior furnishings, etc.) from project initiation phase through financial closeout;
Interpreting multi-level customer needs and developing them into actionable requirements;
Developing, managing, and balancing project plans, budgets, and schedules, including assessing risk and developing appropriate mitigation strategies;
Managing multiple stakeholders by developing relationship strategies;
Applying procurement knowledge and experience to manage contracts supporting assigned projects; and
Negotiating sound real estate business transactions.
