About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. This position performs preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs of hand tools, power tools, and stationary shop equipment.

Duties

Make Concrete saw blades by cutting correct length from bulk Chain Material properly matching the teeth, then filing and setting. File and set hand saws, keyhole saws, meter saws and cross-cut saws. Repair banding tools such as stretchers, cutters, and crimpers by oiling, adjusting and replacing worn parts. Document the issuance of supplies to employees. Perform regular maintenance on shop tools and equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health - ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The incumbent must obtain and maintain a forklift operator's certification to operate a forklift for loading and transporting equipment and supplies.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State Driver's license to perform the duties of this position.

Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal SupervisionAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)Knowledge of MaterialsTechnical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Performs tiring work for long periods involving frequent standing, bending, stooping and working in uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries tools, parts, supplies and other material weighing up to 10 pounds; may occasionally handle items that weight up to 40 pounds; dollies, hand trucks, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in areas that are well lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work is sometimes dirty, dusty and greasy. Employee is frequently exposed to loud noise and the possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.
