About the Position: The incumbent will work on a multifunctional team supporting the operational duties and functions of the Army EMS Program Management Office located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Collaborate with the Compliance and Regulatory team to ensure training standards required by the U.S. Army EMS are being achieved with training program materials. Assist the Recertification team in receiving, reviewing, and processing requests and or extensions for recertification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Conduct periodic site visits to ensure compliance with all course administrative and program of instruction (POI) standards. Utilize a database portal to track all training site information to provide daily management as prescribed by Army EMS SOP. Prepare reports and/or briefings for respective area of interest.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Travel duty is required up to 20% of the time.
  • Must maintain and obtain a Secret background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: processing requests for recertification with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT); assisting NREMT cardholders with obtaining continuing education to meet regulatory requirements; conducting investigative visits to training sites to ensure program compliance and regulatory training standards; AND collaborating with internal and external personnel regarding the accreditation and quality assurance of a training program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Education, Business Administration, Data Science, or Instruction Design. OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Education and Training Program AdministrationQuality AssuranceTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
