Duties

Management and decision making regarding fiscal issues; personnel; developing missions, visions, long and short-term goals and objectives and problem solving. Attend meetings with other services to discuss process improvements. Perform full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties. Assign work and establish priorities; evaluate performance of subordinates; give advice, counsel, and/or instruction to subordinates on both work and administrative matters. Brief leadership on personnel and patients issues. Provide individual, group and family therapy and counseling to patients and their families and consultation to members of the health care team.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
• Must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. Subject to pre-employment credentialing of DHA Health Care Provider which requires credentials review verification and documentation.
• This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
• This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
