About the Position: Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the administration, operation, utilization, maintenance, inspection, and inventory control of the non-tactical vehicle fleet consisting of cars, trucks, and buses.

Duties

Plan, direct, and coordinate the administration, operation, utilization, maintenance, inspection, and inventory control of the non-tactical vehicle fleets consisting of cars, trucks, and buses. Oversee and coordinate operations efforts of contractors, and the locale General Services Administration (GSA). Interpret and implement guidance and policies, plans for operations, and coordinates the future and present installation motor transport operations with regulations. Serve as principal staff advisor to the command.

Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) conducting analysis of the vehicle fleet regarding utilization, cost per mile, monthly lease costs, maintenance and repair time; 2) establishing quality control measures to ensure uniform standards of operator vehicle maintenance and driver performance are met; and 3) performing evaluations and oversight on contractors to ensure contract compliance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical CompetenceTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
