The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and oversee administrative support services for the Immediate Office of the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Policy, Management, and Procurement (DAAG PMP) and subordinate staff offices. The incumbent also contributes to special projects that improve services within the organization, and manages a variety of sensitive, confidential, and complex tasks for the DAAG PMP, their Immediate Office and subordinate staff offices.

The duties/responsibilities of the Staff Assistant includes: Coordinate and oversee administrative support services for the Immediate Office of the DAAG-PMP Contribute to special projects that improve services within the organization Manage a wide range of sensitive, confidential, and complex tasks for the DAAG-PMP and the Immediate Office Provide a variety of support and administrative services for the Immediate Office operations as well as the DAAG-PMP subordinate offices

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31, 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Staff Assistant at (GS-0301-12/13), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing administrative support services for management or Senior Leadership; 2) Preparing written materials or reports associated with programs, policies, or operations; AND 3) Coordinating actions between internal or external stakeholders required to advance or complete tasks or projects. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Providing executive administrative support services for Executive Staff or Senior Leadership; 2) Developing formal written materials associated with programs, policies, or operations tailored to a variety of audiences; 3) Implementing automation programs or tools to track tasks or projects to improve workflow processes from start to finish; AND 4) Developing recommendations to improve organizational or administrative programs, policies, or projects. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 11/01/2024.
