About the Position: This position is located with U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Transportation Division located at Fort Cavazos, TX.

Duties

Serves as Traffic Management Specialist and technical advisor in the Unit Movements Section and for the Installation Unit Movement Coordinator (UMC). Plans, coordinates, schedules, and ensures the accuracy of all deployment movement plans, timelines and priorities as coordinated with higher level supervisor. Continuously assesses operations to coordinate and direct deployment operations and processes. Coordinates changes to unit deployment data to ensure adequate space on railcars, commercial trucks, vessels and aircraft is scheduled and allocated to meet operational requirements and maximize loading efficiency at least cost to the government. Conducts or participates in operational safety and Site Assistance Visit (SAV) briefings for USAR and ARNG audiences of up to 100 personnel including commanders, staff personnel, and military units involved in deployment operations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • A pre-employment physical is required.
  • Obtain and maintain certification in the AMMO-62, Transportation of Hazardous Materials Course and recertified as required (every 24 months).
  • Irregular work hours may be required after normal duty hours, i.e., weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
