About the Position: This position is located with U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th AFSB, Logistics Readiness Center located at Fort Cavazos, TX.

Duties

Serve as the Unit Movements Section Supervisor for the Transportation Division. Serve as the central point of contact within the Army Field Support Battalion (AFSBn) for plans, actions, and issues relating to planning, mobilization movements and deployment by air, line haul, convoy and rail. Serve as the Installation Unit Movement Coordinator (IUMC) and will be responsible for Fort Cavazos Active Component (AC) units, United States Army Reserve (USAR), Army Reserve National Guard (ARNG) units, and other units. Provide Transportation Coordinator Automated Information Management System (TCAIMS) oversight support to Units in the preparation of movement of passengers, material and/or equipment in support of military exercises, mobilization and deployments. Coordinate with Rail Operations Center (ROC), Freight Movements Branch (FMB) and Arrival/Departure Airfield Control Group (A/DACG) and develop schedule for deploying activities such as container inspections, line haul, rail and/or aerial operations

Requirements

  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Irregular work hours required after normal duty hours, weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.
  • This position has been designated Key for Mobilization/Deployment and CANNOT be filled by an Active Reservist or Retiree with call back orders. Provisions of AR 690-08 and 690-10 must be followed before either of the above can fill this position.
  • This is a Mission Essential position: The incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.

Specialized Experience:One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Operating automated transportation systems to plan and deploy passengers or an organization's commodities; (2) Coordinating movement with transportation support agencies; (3) Providing deployment data to transportation support agencies to move organization personnel, freight, and/or other commodities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
