You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (BACKFLOW INSPECTOR) of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties
You will evaluate technical engineering work performed by others to ensure compliance with engineering practices and specifications
You will create technical plans for system development, fielding, and sustainment processes.
You will interpret technical engineering specifications to prepare contract statements of work

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modification, certification, and record keeping of backflow preventers for portable water production and distribution systems; 2) Provides advisory services for conducting certification inspections of backflow preventers; 3) Coordinates, schedules and performs inspections, tests and certifications for backflow prevention and cross connection programs; and 4) Utilizes visual inspections, building plans, blueprints, sketches to plan and lay out and/or modify pipe routing the backflow prevention assembly (BPA) installation.
