Duties
You will monitor security communications systems on a military installation.
You will control access of vehicles and pedestrians to installation or to restricted area within Maintenance Center Barstow's organization such as Small Arms/Weapon Shops, Security Warehouse, etc.
You will guard a broad range of highly sensitive items applying stringent security measures and procedures.
You will protect items from fire, theft, sabotage, loss, damage, and destruction.
You will monitor closed circuit television (CCTV).
You will monitor Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
You will activate and deactivate security systems.
You will stop persons and vehicles for identification.
You will allow entrance to persons and vehicles with proper authorizations.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Position is subject to recall.
- You may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves or shields.
- You may be required to regularly lift and carry objects of 50 pounds or less.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues (to include sensitive or controversial topics) before a wide range of audiences. Makes clear and convincing oral presentations. Listens effectively; clarifies information as needed. Demonstrates skill in using job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet. Makes well-informed, effective, and timely decisions, whether data are limited or vast; or solutions produce unpleasant consequences; perceives the impact and implications of decisions. Analyzes critically, synthesizing patterns among divers systems and looking at interdependencies. Gauges unintended consequences. Uses sound judgment to simultaneously integrate and weigh situational constraints, risks, and rewards. Complete reports/forms and issue citations within established procedures. Observe, detect, and report violations of laws, policies, and procedures.
