Duties
Provides Command and Control of Defense Cyber Operations (DCO) operations, incident response, security monitoring, cyber threats and related issues. Prepares white papers, implementation plans and provides briefing support for senior leadership.
Performs the DCO mission on behalf of the Defense Information System Network and is an integral part of DISA Cyber Security Service Provider team providing services to mission partners and war fighters.
Implements, manages, maintains, and analyzes tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and security requirements to protect the DISA Enterprise and the information stored within the enterprise.
Responsible for intrusion detection, incident response, and countermeasure development and executing actions for the Global Infrastructure supporting the DoD, Services and Agencies.

- This position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications and Residential Qualifications in accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series.
- This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
- The incumbent may also be required to physically report to an alternate duty station during the activation of a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plan.
- Salary to be determined based on duty location after selection.
- Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3006.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards.
Customer Service- experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs.
Oral Communication- briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience.
Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience conducting cyber risk and vulnerability assessments; planning and developing security countermeasures; and implementing procedures and methods for protecting IT networks and conducting defensive cyber operations incident management.

Education
There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experienceat the GG-12 grade level.
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education .
