This position is located at US Mint,Manufacturing Directorate - Denver - Plant Manager. As an Administrative Specialist, you will be independently performing highly diversified duties associated with the administration and management of day-to-day support activities for the Associate Director position. This position provides staff support to the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent and other senior managers within the United States Mint.
Duties
As an Administrative Specialist, you will:
Serves as the administrative liaison for head of the Department, and the staff members who report to them.
Ensures that the practices and procedures used by the administrative support staff in the Department are consistent and makes and implements policies for the Department.
Instructs and assists all administrative support staff concerning such matters as priorities, procedures and office coverage.
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For GS-11: Specialized experience is one year (fifty-two (52) weeks) of experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
- Interpreting and analyzing office administrative operations and policies and recommending changes to improve effectiveness and consistency of administrative operations; AND
- Performing administrative functions such as troubleshooting office support issues, scheduling meetings, travel and conferences, and controlling correspondence; AND
- Researching and interpreting information needed to prepare reports, and to respond to requests for information; AND
- Planning and coordinating projects affecting operations.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;
OR
LL.M., if related;
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-11 you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.
