Duties

You will provide equipment repair, plumbing, and electrical support to the command. You will charge systems with refrigerants and test for leaks. You will repair, adjust, or replace defective elements (i.e.: thermostats, switches, etc.). You will analyze discrepancies found during the monitoring process and take appropriate corrective action. You will read and interpret blue prints, specifications, and wiring diagrams.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position requires to lift from 35 to 100 pounds with the assistance of hoists, dollies, hand trucks, and cranes and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require rotating shift work.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • This position is subject to recall 24 hours a day, seven days a week, as dictated by the recall policy.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION; Ability to install, connect and repair motors, condensers, evaporators, and has the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate variable speed drive controllers and other components 440 Volts or less without supervision or assistance in accordance with design specifications.
