Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Social Science Analyst, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Working with experts in community level measurement and data collection, state and community leaders, to gather and input data for analysis. Leading findings and recommendations regarding behavioral health trends. Providing subject matter expertise in the collection, analysis and reporting of community data. Represents the Center on agency-wide committees and working groups involved in data collection. ** Duties as shown are at the full performance level (FPL) of the GS-13. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the FPL.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Must meet one of the items listed below: Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. (Must provide transcripts) or Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Must provide transcript) or Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. -AND- Minimum Qualifications: For GS-12: In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Applying, statistical, sociological, and/or other social science theories, techniques, and methodologies to gather and interpret plan-related information. Validating a variety of data involving unusual circumstances and/or working with incomplete or conflicting data. Making recommendations to initiate or modify operational policies. For GS-13: In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirement above, you must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Provide guidance to program managers, project officers, and staff in applying advanced statistical methods to the evaluation and management of program performance. Developing new techniques and/or approaches to improve program operation efficiency and effectiveness. Planning and coordinating community data collection and analysis efforts, to evaluate and improve quality and effectiveness of prevention services and projects. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
