This position is in the Office of the Director, Consumer Financial Protection (CFPB). CFPB's mission is to help consumer financial markets work by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives.
The purpose of this position is to assist the Executive Secretary with a variety of assignments associated with administrative efficiency and operations of the office.
Duties
As an Associate Executive Secretariat, you will:
Play a key role in managing the clearance processes for publication of external documents, including speeches, web content, testimony before Congress, press releases, and documents for publication in the Federal Register.
Prepare final drafts of letters, memoranda, white papers, etc., on sensitive/critical matters that communicate the Bureau's and the Director's views, philosophies, or position to external parties.
Collaborate with Executive Secretary staff to recommend and implement programs, controls and systems with the Chief of Staff and Executive Secretary to track and record documents for use by the Director, that require the Director's or Chief of Staff's attention, and for external publication.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for CN-53: To qualify at CN-53, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next band/grade (CN-52, GS-12 or equivalent) in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
Experience reviewing and editing reports, correspondence, or other materials dealing with technical, policy, and/or program issues for accuracy, adherence to policy, organization of material, appropriateness for intended audience, grammar, spelling, and punctuation, requiring concurrence and/or signature from other top management/agency officials and/or publication in official publications; AND
Experience providing advice and guidance to individuals external to your work group regarding procedures for internal approval processes; AND
Experience interacting with executive level staff as well as developing relationships and collaborating with individuals internal and external to your work group.
