As a Housing Senior Advisor, you will:
Serve as key advisor on public and multifamily housing, finance and policy matters that have an impact on current or future missions.
Conduct studies and program evaluations to recommend major program policies, operations and technical procedures, standards and criteria for Headquarters and Field Office organizations with respect to the programs administered by the Office including development or management of affordable housing.
Advise and assist the Director and Deputy Director in the overall resolution of broad policy and programmatic problems and, as necessary, represent them in special meetings, conferences, or negotiations both within and outside the Department.
Perform special assignments concerning high-level policy issues brought to the immediate attention of the Director and Deputy Director and in doing so, resolves issues and disposes of matters which require coordination, arbitration, or decision on behalf of them. Special assignments may involve programmatic, administrative, organizational, or employee related issues.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Demonstrated experience developing, underwriting, or financing affordable multifamily housing developments; AND
-Providing guidance and recommendations to senior management or client organizations related to affordable housing preservation; AND
-Demonstrated experience with programs related to multifamily housing, climate resilience, green building, or commercial real estate.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
